Boon Lim

Boon joined the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children, Canberra in April 2015. Prior to this, he was Director of O&G at Royal Hobart Hospital, Tasmania. A graduate of the University of Malaya, Boon did his O&G training in Aberdeen, Scotland. After his senior registrar training, he was appointed to his first consultant position in Auckland, New Zealand in 1990. He moved back to the UK in 1994 where he was a consultant in Scotland and then in Cambridgeshire until his move to Australia in 2011. He has held many leadership and academic positions including being Chair of the Maternity and Newborn Clinical Programme Board for NHS East of England and Chair of the Pandemic Influenza Working Group of the RCOG. He has held honorary academic positions with the Universities of Auckland, Aberdeen, Cambridge and Tasmania, and is presently Clinical Associate Professor in O&G for the Australian National University. He has written several book chapters, papers in peer reviewed journals and co-authored an undergraduate textbook. He is reviewer for several journals and is an editor for the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is also actively involved in RANZCOG including being on Council, Co-ordinator for the Short Answer Questions for the FRANZCOG examination and Deputy Chair of the Subspecialties Committee. His special interest is in the area of high risk obstetrics, especially in the area of abnormal placental implantation.
